Here are a few photos from our last two camp outs, which were both back in July. I also forgot to mention that some of the photos (from these recent camping trips) were taken by struggling_along, including these gorgeous ones from up top the nearby mountains, and of course, the ones with me in them!
More recently we have been working on the home front so expect a post on the garden, the animals, etc. soon.

Ninja Turtle jack o’lantern carved by struggling_along.
A few weeks ago we discovered a campground near us; so we took a family camping trip to try it out. Just in time too, the leaves are undeniably changing and the nights are cool enough that I need to close the windows most nights. Despite rain on our first day we still got in plenty of campfires and trips to the lake. The boys are already planning for next year….
Our to do list is growing nearly as fast as the grass is around here. We’re crossing off tasks left and right but there’s a lot to be done! Homeschooling for the year is wrapping up, gardens are going in (and that means weeding gets tacked on the list), then there’s hoof and scur trimming, fences to be built or repaired, pens need to be cleaned out after a long winter etc etc. Yet, I think house renovations top the list. Struggling_along, in particular, has spent many many hours, elbows deep, demolishing, cleaning out and rebuilding everything from the crawl space to the roof. A lot is still in progress but the roof is done. It looks great and best of all- it doesn’t leak!
We picked up our pig this past weekend.
Her name is Singapore (no car brands for names this time). She’s quite friendly. Farmer Ezra likes to check in on her frequently, often with a brother, dog or cat in tow.
Struggling_along put together a new pig pen and shelter for her. It will be interesting to see how long the grass lasts. Pigs are certainly a great way to prep a garden bed!
