I just adore these baby Kanoko pants! I thought I’d knit another pair before Molly outgrows the pattern. Since it’s getting hotter by the day I made these out of cotton. Hopefully, I can make these a tad longer than the first pair but I have only one skein- which I’m working from both ends so that the legs will at least be equal in length. I’ve knit the waist as one piece and will be sewing an elastic in. I’m also making up my own pattern as far as the seed stitch/garter stitch sections go.
I had a chance over this past month to work on a few sewing projects, including making these adorable pants for Ishmael. The fabric is soft and breathable and the pattern free and easy- just use a pair of pants the size you want, folded in half, adding a few inches for folding down the hem and waist- which is elastic.
Ishi is quite independent (and vocal) when it comes to picking out his clothes, luckily these seem to meet his requirements. Just right for climbing, driving trucks, digging in the dirt, and, of course, hanging out with the dog. All in an afternoon’s work for this busy boy of mine!
And I’d say he looks pretty darn cute in them too!
Last week I finally I got a chance to sew Ishmael a pair of pants!
Being winter I figured Ishmael would be better off with a pair of lined pants. A while back I found a piece of fleece at our local consignment store for 50 cents now was the perfect time to use it! And I had stashed some dino fabric for baby clothes (.75 cents @ Mardens). The stars must of been aligned cause how likely is it that the baby stash fabric would go with such a bold green?!. They feel super comfy.
